Ph.D. research opportunity in Transportation Engineering at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK), starting Fall 2026.

The position is in Dr. Calvin Clark’s lab in the Civil and Architectural Engineering area, with research centered on transportation engineering and civil engineering topics such as multimodal transportation systems, transportation planning, transportation solutions for rural communities, and transportation data analytics.

Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field, with a background in transportation engineering. Helpful experience includes GIS, statistical analysis (including R or similar tools), programming, survey design, travel behavior analysis, multimodal transportation analysis, and work with transportation datasets. Strong analytical ability, motivation for independent research, and strong written and verbal communication skills are expected. Previous publications are strongly preferred.

Funding is expected for up to four years, subject to admission, availability, and satisfactory academic and research progress. Support includes a 12-month salary of $2,500 per month, tuition assistance, fringe benefits/insurance, and a small budget for research-related travel, materials, and supplies.
