About this position

PhD and postdoctoral fellowship opportunity at McGill University for a project on understanding and improving access to health services among people with psychosis in Peru.

This CIHR-funded mixed-methods study combines administrative data analysis, geospatial analysis, and qualitative research to examine the factors shaping access to care. The project pays particular attention to underserved populations, including Indigenous communities, racialized populations, and people living in remote areas.

The trainee will work with collaborators in Peru and Canada, and may need to travel to Peru for the project. The post is especially suitable for candidates with a strong interest and/or experience in qualitative methods, mental health, psychosis, health services research, and equity-focused global health.

PhD applicants must have a Master’s in a relevant discipline and be Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Postdoctoral applicants must have completed a PhD in a relevant discipline within the last 4 years. Spanish language proficiency is required, and prior experience in Peru and Latin America is an asset.

Applicants are encouraged to pursue CIHR, SSHRC, or FRQ graduate scholarships or postdoctoral fellowships. The team will work with selected applicants to develop competitive research proposals and provide mentorship ahead of the September and October fellowship deadlines.

To apply, contact Dr. Srividya Iyer and the listed contact email addresses directly to express interest and discuss the fellowship application process.
