PhD Position in Adult Education, Lifelong Learning, and Social Sciences at KU Leuven KU Leuven in Belgium

KU Leuven is offering a full-time, 4-year PhD position focused on the impact of adult education on young adults in second-chance education (TKO) at Flemish Centres for Adult Education (CVO). The research will examine the mental well-being of young adults in TKO programs and study interventions that support teachers and pedagogical support services. The project involves close collaboration with participating CVOs across Flanders and the establishment of learning networks.

The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in Psychology, Educational Sciences, Economics/Business, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. Essential skills include a strong affinity for adult education and lifelong learning, experience with both quantitative (surveys, administrative data) and qualitative (interviews, focus groups, learning networks) research methods, structured working and project organization, fluency in Dutch for network interactions, and good English communication skills. Candidates should also be interested in writing and communicating research results and be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
