About this position

TU Wien is advertising a PhD / University Assistant Prae-Doc position in the Institute of Chemical, Environmental and Bioscience Engineering, in the Research Group for Sustainable Use of Natural Resources.

The project focuses on efficient catalytic transformation of renewable resources into chemicals, with a specific emphasis on catalytic conversion of biomass. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Assistant Prof. Dr. Irina Delidovich and contribute to research and teaching activities in a dynamic international group.

Research tasks include synthesis and characterization of catalysts, catalytic and mechanistic studies, improvement and maintenance of experimental setups, dissertation writing, publications, scientific events, and organizational support.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a completed diploma or master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field. Experience in catalysis, chemo-catalytic biomass conversion, HPLC or NMR, and synthesis is advantageous. The post also asks for strong teamwork, independent and structured working habits, interest in teaching, and good English and German skills (at least B2).

Funding and duration: the position is limited to 4 years, with 30 hours/week. The salary follows the Austrian collective agreement for university staff (B1), currently EUR 2,832.10 gross/month for 30 hours/week, paid 14 times per year, with possible increases based on relevant experience.
