About this position

Radboud University is advertising a PhD position titled Fatigue in Motion within the Faculty of Social Sciences, embedded in the Sensorimotor Neuroscience department of the Donders Centre for Cognition and the broader Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour.

This project studies how fatigue affects gait, balance, and functional mobility in people with neurological disorders. The research combines physiological measurements, plethysmography, motion analysis, and wearable sensors to connect fatigue-related physiological markers with movement quality in the lab and in daily life. The position is suitable for candidates with an MSc in Human Movement Sciences, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Technical Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, or a related field. Experience with movement analysis, physiological measurements, and/or qualitative research methods is preferred, together with strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills in Dutch and English. The role includes study design, data collection, data analysis, scientific writing, conference presentations, and possible mentoring/teaching duties.

The appointment is a 1.0 FTE temporary contract for 1.5 years, with extension to a total of 4 years after positive evaluation. Salary starts at €3,204 gross per month and rises to €4,051 in the fourth year, plus holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus, and generous leave options.
