About this position
University of Southern Denmark (SDU), through the Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics and Thin-Film Energy Devices (SDU CAPE) at the Mads Clausen Institute, is recruiting for a 3-year PhD position in High Performance Organic Photovoltaics in Sønderborg, Denmark.
The project is part of the DFF-funded LuminOPV project and focuses on aggregation-induced emission (AIE)-active molecular materials, photophysical control, molecular organization, energy-loss reduction, interface engineering, passivation, and scalable organic solar cells/modules. The work is strongly interdisciplinary and sits at the intersection of chemistry, materials science, physics, and electrical engineering.
The position is fully funded and includes a salaried PhD appointment for three years. The monthly gross salary including pension is 37,075 DKK, with possible adjustment for relevant postgraduate experience. Research stays abroad are part of the position.
Applicants should hold a master’s degree in a relevant field such as chemistry, materials science, physics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline. Preferred experience includes organic synthesis, molecular photophysics, organic/hybrid semiconductors, thin films and interfaces, and organic photovoltaics. Strong collaboration skills and excellent English communication skills are required.
The successful candidate will be enrolled in the PhD School at the Faculty of Engineering.
