PhD Position in Human-Computer Interaction for Health and Telemedicine at University of Bayreuth University of Bayreuth in Germany

University of Bayreuth is advertising a full-time PhD position in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) with applications in the health domain, hosted by the Professorship for Mobile Computing and Telemedicine.

The research area includes human-centred interaction design for medical data and AI systems, digital collaboration, telemedical care across distances, and digital health education and empowerment of students and patients. The successful candidate will work on the development and evaluation of interaction techniques and systems for collaboration and health education, publish in journals, present at conferences, and support teaching and thesis supervision.

Eligibility highlights: a strong master’s degree in computer science, HCI, medical engineering, or a related field; good programming skills (Unity, web design, Python); basic HCI knowledge; experience with quantitative and qualitative experimental design; and very good English. German is expected to be learned within 2 years for social interaction with students. Experience in statistical analysis is beneficial.

Funding: the position is full-time for 3 years and paid at E13 TV-L under the German public sector system. The post is temporary and intended for academic qualification.
