About this position
PhD opening in molecular aging and metabolism research at Charité – University Medicine Berlin, Institute for Experimental Endocrinology, in Berlin, Germany.
The research group studies the molecular and biochemical mechanisms of aging and age-associated metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, obesity, neurodegeneration, and cancer. A major focus is mitochondrial metabolism and redox-dependent signaling pathways, with experimental work aimed at understanding cell function, metabolic health, and aging processes, and at developing preventive and therapeutic strategies.
The position involves planning, performing, and evaluating molecular and cell biology experiments; using methods such as cell culture, genome editing, molecular biology, RNA analysis, fluorescence microscopy, recombinant protein expression/purification, and biochemical in-vitro assays; analyzing data with biostatistical and bioinformatic methods; presenting results at conferences and in journals; and working in an interdisciplinary, internationally oriented team.
