The Research in Orthopedic Computer Science (ROCS) group at the University of Zurich is offering a fully funded PhD position in Robotic AI Imaging and Surgical Guidance. The project focuses on transforming mobile fluoroscopy into an intelligent robotic platform for intraoperative navigation, advancing robotic imaging, 3D reconstruction, and surgical guidance. The research combines medical imaging, computer vision, and machine learning, with strong clinical translation in collaboration with Balgrist University Hospital and the OR-X research platform.

The successful candidate will work at the intersection of robotics and medical science, developing AI-driven reconstruction pipelines and real-time surgical guidance systems. Applicants should have an MSc in robotics, electrical engineering, or computer science, with expertise in robotic control, computer vision, image processing, and hands-on experience with relevant hardware and software frameworks.
