The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rice University is now recruiting PhD students for Fall 2026. Applicants must have a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related field. Application materials include official transcripts, at least three letters of recommendation, and proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo) for non-native speakers. The GRE is strongly recommended but not required. Minimum English test scores are 90 (TOEFL iBT), 7 (IELTS), or 115 (Duolingo). The application deadline for Fall 2026 is January 15, 2026.
