PhD Positions in Multimodal LLMs, AI Safety, and Embodied AI at AImageLab Unimore Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia in Italy

AImageLab at Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (Unimore) and the ELLIS Unit Modena are announcing several upcoming PhD positions in AI.

The research themes include next-generation multimodal LLMs, with work on architectures, training, and reasoning capabilities; AI safety and trustworthiness, including robustness, alignment, and reliable multimodal systems; and embodied AI and world models, focusing on perception, planning, and interaction in physical and simulated environments.

Some positions are funded through industrial collaborations, including AMD Silo AI, while others are connected to major European projects such as ELLIOT, ELIAS - European Lighthouse of AI for Sustainability, and MINERVA European Support Centre for Scalable AI Research and Deployment.
