PhD positions are available for Spring 2027 / Fall 2027 at the iNEXT Lab, University of Idaho.
The Integrated Circuits for Next-Frontier Electronics & X-Technologies (iNEXT) Lab in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking motivated PhD students to work on neural circuits for ASICs and neuromorphic circuits.
Research topics include designing and implementing bio-inspired circuits in silicon, such as electronic synapses, spiking neurons, and integrated neuromorphic systems. Students will gain experience in transistor-level circuit design, simulation, layout, and hardware validation.
Applicants with backgrounds in electrical engineering, computer engineering, microelectronics, VLSI, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Experience with analog or mixed-signal IC design, CMOS circuits, or Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre is desirable.
