About this position

Strong computational skills in R, Python, and Bash/Linux are required, along with very good English and the ability to work in a team. Experience with network analysis, MAG reconstruction, and polar/marine ecology is advantageous.

What's required
Completed scientific university degree (Master’s/university diploma) in biology, microbiology, bioinformatics, or a related field; applicants in the final phase of the Master’s degree may also be considered, but the Master’s certificate is mandatory for employment. Required are in-depth knowledge of NGS data, especially 16S amplicon data and (meta-)genomes; experience analyzing large biological datasets with R, Python, and Bash/Linux; very good written and spoken English; teamwork and communication skills in an international environment. Advantageous are experience with network analysis in microbial ecology, knowledge of MAG reconstruction/analysis, and basic understanding of polar microbiology, marine sediments, or ecological issues.
