About this position
Nord University is recruiting a PhD Research Fellow in Social Science for the project SOTRUST, focused on trust, distrust, conflict, cooperation, and reconciliation in the South Sámi area / South Saepmie.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and a completed master’s degree (120 ECTS) or equivalent in a relevant social science discipline and/or history; candidates with degrees in the humanities or other relevant fields may be considered individually. Applicants must demonstrate solid knowledge of relevant theories and methods, meet the PhD admission grade requirement (normally a B average in the master’s degree), have strong written and oral English skills, and provide documentation if applying from outside the Nordic countries. Admission to the Faculty of Social Sciences PhD programme is required, and applicants who already hold a PhD are not eligible. A final project proposal must be approved within three months of employment; competence related to Saami language, history, society, and culture, especially the South Sámi area, is a strong advantage.
