This PhD project is based in the Salzer Group and focuses on how genetic alterations affect human lymphocyte development. The work combines CRISPR-based genome engineering, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and advanced thymus and bone marrow organoid systems to investigate childhood leukemia and inborn errors of immunity in a uniquely human experimental setting.
The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative, international research environment that is closely connected to pediatric clinicians and translational researchers. Experience with molecular cloning, CRISPR editing, cell culture, and single-cell sequencing is valued, along with a careful and independent working style and strong motivation to contribute creatively to a collaborative team.
