PhD Studentship: 3D-OCT Tools for Posterior Eye Shape Characterisation at the University of Plymouth, sponsored by Carl Zeiss AG.

This is a 3-year full-time PhD focused on developing and validating 3D-OCT-based tools for posterior eye shape characterisation. The research has applications in myopia, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and intraocular lens (IOL) selection.

Funding: full tuition plus a tax-free stipend of £20,176 in year 1, £21,185 in year 2, and £21,926 in year 3, with an additional £2,500 bench fee per year.

Eligibility: applicants should hold a 1st or 2:1 degree in Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science. Strong Python/MATLAB skills and imaging experience are expected. The opportunity is open to Home and International applicants.
