Ghent University is recruiting a Post-doctoral assistant (CLP) in Political Sciences within the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Department PS03 - Political Sciences. This is a temporary 3-year appointment at 100%, with the possibility of renewal, and the position starts at the earliest on 15 October 2026. The application deadline is 31 July 2026 at 23:59 Brussels time.
The post is strongly research-oriented: at least 70% of the assignment will be devoted to academic research. The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching at Bachelor’s and Master’s level in Dutch, supervise student exercises, internships, research papers and Master’s dissertations, and co-supervise doctoral students.
The position is aimed at candidates with a doctoral degree in Political Science or an equivalent field, completed by the start of appointment. The research profile should include local politics, and applicants should be promising researchers with publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and/or widely disseminated scholarly books. Strong Dutch language skills are required for teaching.

Funding details
