About this position
Post-Doctoral Fellow Level 1 / Level 2 (PD1/2) in Emissions Monitoring, Mitigation and Demonstration at Teagasc Irish Agriculture & Food Development Authority, based at the National Agricultural Sustainability Research and Innovation Centre, Johnstown Castle, Co. Wexford, Ireland.
This is a postdoctoral opening on the EU Horizon project MARVELA, focused on non-CO2 emissions monitoring, mitigation and demonstration. The role includes setting up field trials, carrying out associated lab work, taking field measurements in different weather conditions, publishing results, and coordinating work package responsibilities with 16 EU partners. There will also be report writing, written and oral English communication, occasional international travel, and driving vehicles.
The position is a research-focused training role within the Teagasc Post-Doctoral Programme. Appointees are required to complete a Level 9 Professional Diploma in Researcher Development delivered by University College Dublin, with blended online and in-person learning and access to UCD library, writing centre, and careers centre.
Supervision is under Dr. Patrick Forrestal or another designated manager, in conjunction with the Head of Department. The post is suitable for early-career researchers interested in environmental science, agriculture, biology, chemistry, emissions research, soils, land use, and sustainable farming systems.
Salary: €45,520 to €53,927. Duration: 43 months. Deadline: 7 September 2026 at 12:00 noon.
