Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Urban Transportation Planning, Solid Waste Management, Utilities Planning, and Urban Informatics at IIT Kharagpur Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in

City Future Lab at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship under the mentorship of Prof. Debapratim Pandit in the Department of Architecture & Regional Planning.

The research themes include urban transportation planning & engineering, solid waste management, utilities planning, and urban informatics. This opportunity is well suited to researchers interested in urban planning, civil engineering, architecture, environmental science, and smart/sustainable city systems.

Eligibility: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. with first-class or equivalent in the preceding degree in an appropriate branch. Candidates with Bachelor's and Master's degrees with first-class or equivalent in the preceding degree in an appropriate branch can also apply. A minimum of two SCI journal publications based on Ph.D. work is required. Applicants may apply immediately after submitting their Ph.D. synopsis or thesis if they have institutional authentication and a self-undertaking to provide the certificate within six months of joining. The age limit is below 35 years at the time of online application, with relaxation as per Government of India norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.

Funding: The fellowship offers ₹80,000, ₹90,000, or ₹1,00,000 per month depending on level, plus a contingency grant of ₹50,000 per annum. The appointment is initially for 1 year and may be extended by 1 additional year based on satisfactory performance and departmental recommendation.
