Post-Doctoral Researcher in Urban Nature, Climate, Health and Nature Finance National Trust in United Kingdom

National Trust is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Researcher to join its Nature Towns and Cities team, working at the intersection of urban nature, climate, health, and nature finance. The role is delivered in partnership with the University of Exeter’s Net+ Centre and focuses on building the evidence needed to unlock large-scale investment into urban greening.

The research will explore how investment decisions are made, how funding flows into urban nature can be increased, and how to create an evidence-based roadmap for scaling investment into urban nature across the UK. The post sits at the intersection of research, policy, and practice, with collaboration across public, private, and community partners.

Relevant study areas and research interests include Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Public Health, Economics, and Business, especially where they connect to climate resilience, social impact, and urban greening. The team is looking for someone with a PhD or equivalent experience, an interest in finance, investment or social impact, strong communication skills, and a collaborative, creative approach.

This is a fixed-term post until September 2029, with full-time or part-time options and flexible hub locations in London, Birmingham, Manchester, or Exeter. No scholarship or tuition funding is mentioned, as this is a research employment opportunity rather than a studentship.
