About this position

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Electrochemistry within the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS) department in Benguerir, Morocco.

The project focuses on the development of green and sustainable electrochemical methodologies for the synthesis of phosphorus derivatives. The research aims to create environmentally friendly routes for phosphorus-based chemicals while reducing the environmental footprint of their production. A background in molten salt and/or phosphate electrochemistry is considered an advantage.

The successful candidate will work on green electrochemical synthesis, including the creation of P-X bonds through electrochemical redox reactions, sequential in-situ transformations, catalysis, and related techniques. The role also includes laboratory and pilot-scale experimental validation, mechanistic studies, and extensive analysis and characterization of products and intermediates using techniques such as EM, SEM, AFM, XPS, UV-Vis, IR, cyclic voltammetry, and NMR.

The postdoc will contribute to the design and synthesis of novel phosphorus derivatives, support sustainability goals by minimizing carbon footprint, and collaborate on scientific reports and publications. The position is embedded in a research environment that emphasizes green chemistry, environmental chemistry, electrochemistry, and process engineering at an international level.

Eligibility highlights include a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or a related field; strong expertise in electrochemical methods; and excellent communication, writing, and teamwork skills in French and English. The application package should include a detailed CV, a cover letter with a concise overview of background, research activities, publications, key achievements, and plans, plus two reference letters. The deadline is not specified in the provided posting.
