About this position

Postdoc in Academic Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystems at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), within DTU Entrepreneurship.

This postdoctoral opening is linked to EUIT (“Empowering Universities and Industry Together to Scale a Challenge-Driven Model for Academic Spin-Off Creation”), a 24-month Horizon Europe project involving universities, innovation intermediaries, and industry-facing partners across Europe. The project examines how earlier collaboration among universities, industry partners, and investors can better support academic spin-off creation, technology validation, and pathways to market.

The research agenda focuses on academic entrepreneurship, knowledge valorisation, and innovation ecosystems. The successful candidate will contribute to conceptual and analytical frameworks, monitoring and evaluation design, comparative case analysis, interviews, and qualitative and/or quantitative analysis of pilot and monitoring data. The role also includes preparing journal articles, presenting at conferences, and contributing to policy briefs, reports, and a transferable European Challenge-Driven Valorisation Framework.

Applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in entrepreneurship, innovation studies, management, economics, public policy, or a related field. Experience with empirical research is required, and strong English communication skills are expected. Desirable experience includes qualitative or mixed-methods research, comparative case studies, programme evaluation, academic spin-offs, technology transfer, university-industry collaboration, and work with policymakers or innovation intermediaries.

The position is based at DTU Entrepreneurship in Copenhagen, Denmark, in an international research environment with collaboration across Europe. The appointment is for 1.5 years and is offered under DTU’s collective agreement for scientific staff. The post is full-time and temporary.

Deadline: 30 November 2026 at 23:59 Danish time.
