Postdoc in biochemistry and structural biology of DNA repair at Aarhus University

The Mechanisms of Chromatin Repair Lab in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University, is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for a project on the structural mechanisms of chromatin repair.

The position focuses on the biochemical and structural characterization of tumour suppressor proteins in the context of chromatin, with an emphasis on DNA repair, chromatin recognition, protein science, and experimental biology. The successful candidate will work with an international team, help establish experimental designs, contribute to biological insight into repair mechanisms, and support manuscript and grant writing.

Eligibility highlights: a PhD in biochemistry, structural biology, or a related field; hands-on experience with cell culture, protein expression and purification; and preferably experience with genome editing and human cell culture. Strong communication, teamwork, independence, and a proactive attitude are important.

Funding and duration: the postdoc is funded by the Danish Cancer Society. The initial appointment is for 2 years from 1 December 2026, with a possible 1-year extension. Salary and terms follow Danish collective agreements.

Location: Universitetsbyen 81, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark.
