The successful candidate will develop a computational platform to identify hierarchical combinations of cell fate conversion factors, aiming to engineer highly specialized neuronal cellular subtypes for cell transplantation therapies. This project integrates gene network-based approaches with advanced machine learning models to propose protocols for sequential induction of transcription factors, ultimately generating desired cell subtypes. The research will be conducted in close collaboration with Professor Stefan Stricker at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, who will lead the experimental validation of computational predictions.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, biology, or a related discipline. Essential qualifications include a strong interest in quantitative approaches to complex biological and biomedical questions, solid computational skills with experience in mathematical or network-based modeling, and a proven record of first-author publications in bioinformatics and/or computational biology. Prior experience in mathematical modeling of biological networks and fluency in English are required.
