About this position
Postdoctoral opportunity in Physics at Institut Néel, CNRS (Grenoble, France)
This postdoc focuses on magnon–photon coupling, magnonics, and solid state physics, with experimental work on low-temperature microwave systems. The project investigates microstructured thin-film YIG devices coupled to a superconducting resonator at very low temperatures, including measurements in a dilution refrigerator to characterize magnons and study photon–magnon coupling.
The work is hosted by Institut Néel in Grenoble within the QuantECA group (Quantum Electronic Circuits Alps), in collaboration with other teams including Micromagnetic and Nanomagnetic Materials groups. The lab is part of CNRS Physique and is described as a major condensed-matter research environment with strong links to microelectronics and nanoelectronics.
Research keywords: physics, solid state physics, surface physics, magnonics, spintronics, microwave circuits, superconducting resonators, low-temperature measurements, dilution refrigerator experiments, YIG microstructures.
Eligibility highlights: PhD in physics, magnonics, or a related field; good written and spoken English; French at basic level; experience with low-temperature measurements and fabrication is an advantage.
Contract and location: Full-time temporary postdoctoral position, 35 hours per week, starting 1 Dec 2026. Work location is Grenoble, France.
Deadline: 9 Oct 2026 at 23:59 UTC.
How to apply: Submit an application via the CNRS vacancy page. The post also provides a Euraxess view/apply link for the same opportunity.
