Postdoc in Future Longevity Inequalities, Mortality Modelling and Projection University of Amsterdam in Netherlands

Postdoctoral researcher opportunity at the Research Centre for Longevity Risk, University of Amsterdam, within the Future Longevity Inequalities project led by Fanny Janssen (NIDI, Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute).

The project focuses on demography, mortality trends, longevity inequalities, socio-economic inequality, statistics, and public health. The postdoc will work on modelling and projecting mortality trends by educational level, with a specific emphasis on separating lifestyle-attributable mortality (smoking, alcohol, obesity) from remaining non-lifestyle-attributable mortality.

This is a full-time postdoc position, initially for two years, hosted at the University of Amsterdam in collaboration with NIDI. The project is funded by a research grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO). The post is aimed at researchers interested in population health, inequality, mortality forecasting, and policy-relevant demographic research.

Eligibility and expectations: applicants should be prepared to contribute to quantitative research on mortality projection and socio-economic longevity inequalities. Experience or interest in modelling, demographic analysis, and related statistical methods would be relevant.
