Postdoc in Future Longevity Inequalities, Mortality Modelling and Projection

Postdoctoral researcher opportunity at the Research Centre for Longevity Risk , University of Amsterdam , within the Future Longevity Inequalities project led by Fanny Janssen (NIDI, Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute). The project focuses on demography , mortality trends , longevity inequalities , socio-economic inequality , statistics , and public health . The postdoc will work on modelling and projecting mortality trends by educational level, with a specific emphasis on separating lifestyle-attributable mortality (smoking, alcohol, obesity) from remaining non-lifestyle-attributable mortality. This is a full-time postdoc position, initially for two years , hosted at the University of Amsterdam in collaboration with NIDI. The project is funded by a research grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) . The post is aimed at researchers interested in population health, inequality, mortality forecasting, and policy-relevant demographic research. Eligibility and expectations: applicants should be prepared to contribute to quantitative research on mortality projection and socio-economic longevity inequalities.
