The project focuses on how standards, incentives, certification schemes, private standards, policy instruments, and sustainability indicators shape transitions toward more sustainable and regenerative farming systems. The postdoc will contribute to interdisciplinary research on livestock farming systems, governance, and the impacts of sustainability transitions on farmers’ livelihoods.

The role also includes stakeholder engagement, project management support, proposal development, and contributions to education.

Eligibility highlights: a completed PhD in a relevant field such as sustainability science, agricultural science, animal science, political science, environmental science, or a related discipline; experience with governance of farming systems; familiarity with qualitative and/or mixed-methods research; interest in transdisciplinary work with farmers and project partners; and strong Dutch and English communication skills at C1 level.
