Postdoc in Governance and Sustainability Transitions in Farming Systems
within the
Animal Production Systems Group
.
The project focuses on how
standards, incentives, certification schemes, private standards, policy instruments, and sustainability indicators
shape transitions toward more sustainable and regenerative farming systems. The postdoc will contribute to interdisciplinary research on livestock farming systems, governance, and the impacts of sustainability transitions on farmers’ livelihoods.
You will work with the team led by
Dr. Evelien de Olde
and contribute to research on public and private governance, metrics and KPIs, stakeholder perceptions, and regenerative agriculture initiatives including
ReGeNL
. The role also includes stakeholder engagement, project management support, proposal development, and contributions to education.
Eligibility highlights:
a completed PhD in a relevant field such as sustainability science, agricultural science, animal science, political science, environmental science, or a related discipline; experience with governance of farming systems; familiarity with qualitative and/or mixed-methods research; interest in transdisciplinary work with farmers and project partners; and strong Dutch and English communication skills at
C1 level
.
Funding and contract:
this is a paid postdoctoral employment position at WUR. The salary range is
€3,546–€5,538 gross per month
for a full-time 38-hour week (scale 10), with a
one-year contract
that may be extended for the project duration of
2 years
