About this position
Postdoctoral position in High-Performance Computing for multi-physics simulations of solar receivers with fluidized beds at PROMES-CNRS Laboratory in France.
The project is part of LBM4HPC: Lattice Boltzmann for Exascale and focuses on high-fidelity modeling of wall-to-bed heat transfer in high-temperature solar receivers for concentrated solar power (CSP).
Research topics include: (1) high-fidelity simulations using the waLBerla framework with DEM + LBM and radiative heat transfer; (2) multi-physics coupling for complex particle shapes, temperature/velocity/two-phase flow in asymmetrically heated receivers; and (3) scalability and performance optimization for large-scale simulations with more than 10^6 particles on CPU/GPU exascale systems.
Applicants should have a PhD in Fluid Mechanics, Computational Engineering, or Thermal Sciences, plus experience in LBM/DEM/CFD, multiphase flows, heat transfer, HPC, MPI/OpenMP/GPU, and programming in C++/Python/Fortran.
Duration is 1 year, renewable for a second year. Apply via the CNRS portal and use the subject line Postdoc LBM4HPC - Solar Receivers. Contact Adrien Toutant, Samuel Mer, and Samuel Kemmler for more information.
