About this position

Postdoc opportunity at Copenhagen Business School in the historical sociology of moral elites, linked to the ERC Starting Grant project Moral Elites: The Historical Positioning of Civil Society Leaders in National Moral Economies (MORALITES).

The project examines how civil society elites shape the ideational fabric of society and compares their influence across national moral economies. The postdoc will work in a team-based research environment with one PhD, three postdocs, and the PI, and will be attached to work package 5, focusing on methods and analysis across the project.

Relevant research areas and methods include sociology, political science, elite studies, historical social science, Multiple Correspondence Analysis, Social Network Analysis, and Discourse Network Analysis. The project covers case studies in Italy, Denmark, Poland, and the UK.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD in sociology or political science; knowledge of the listed methods or similar methods is required; historical social science is an advantage; strong English communication skills are required; and the candidate should be able to attend meetings in Copenhagen regularly.

Funding and terms: this is a 2-year full-time postdoc, with a possible 1-year teaching extension depending on fit with teaching needs. Salary follows the Ministry of Finance agreement with the Central Academic Organization.
