About this position
Postdoc opportunity at Aalborg University in learning-based multi-agent control under uncertainty, with applications to autonomous multi-robot systems operating in dynamic and uncertain environments.
The position is hosted by the Department of Electronic Systems in the Automation and Control Section at Aalborg University, Denmark, and is part of the Horizon Europe ROX-6G project. The research is primarily theoretical and focuses on fundamental work in learning-based planning and control of interacting autonomous agents under uncertainty.
Research topics include distributed and cooperative control, learning-augmented model predictive control, safe reinforcement learning, data-driven modelling, safety mechanisms such as CBF, distributed optimization, robust and adaptive control, and rigorous analysis of stability, safety, constraint satisfaction, robustness, and convergence. The role also includes reproducible simulations, numerical studies, collaboration on robotic validation, and publication in international journals and conferences.
Eligibility highlights: PhD in control engineering, robotics, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or a closely related field; strong background in modelling, control, optimization, or multi-agent systems; scientific programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C++; excellent English; experience with ROS/ROS 2, multi-robot simulation, or physical robotic experiments is an advantage.
Funding and terms: full-time postdoc for 2 years, starting February 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Salary and employment terms follow Danish academic collective agreements.
Deadline: 2026-11-05. Apply via Aalborg University’s recruitment system and include the required documents listed in the advertisement.
