About this position

TU Delft is hiring a Postdoc in Non-Monotone Game Theory within the Delft Center for Systems and Control (DCSC), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. This ERC-funded project, Data-driven Game Theoretic Control for Constrained Systems (ARGON), focuses on developing new theoretical and computational methods for game theory, control theory, optimization, and multi-agent systems.

The research targets complex interconnected systems such as sustainable power grids, autonomous vehicles, and human-machine collaborative systems. The postdoc will work on dynamic game theory and multi-agent optimization for uncertain nonlinear systems, including switched linear and polynomial systems and projected dynamical systems. The project aims to build analysis and synthesis frameworks for data-driven non-monotone game theory with applications in multi-actor power grids, automated driving, and collaborative systems.

Responsibilities include analyzing local equilibria for non-convex, non-monotone game equilibrium problems, developing dynamic game theory for switched polynomial systems, creating tractable computational methods for local equilibrium seeking, and extending methods to piecewise-monotone game equilibrium problems.

Applicants should hold a PhD degree or be close to completion in Systems and Control, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. Experience or strong affinity with Systems and Control, Optimization, or Game Theory is expected, along with excellent analytical and communication skills and strong English. Dutch is not required.

The position is full-time for 3 years, with a salary range of €3706-€5760 per month and standard TU Delft employment benefits. The application deadline is 30 October 2026. Apply online through the TU Delft careers portal and submit a CV, motivation letter, transcripts, and up to three research-oriented documents.
