About this position
Postdoc position in Persuasion in Hybrid Intelligence Systems at the University of Groningen (Bernoulli Institute, Faculty of Science and Engineering) in the Netherlands.
This is a 3-year postdoc in artificial intelligence, situated in the multi-agent systems group as part of the Hybrid Intelligence Centre. The project focuses on persuasion in hybrid intelligence, especially how computational agents can overtly persuade human collaborators in a one-to-one setting while maintaining satisfactory outcomes and a positive subjective experience. A concrete evaluation setting is envisioned through the virtual museum guide developed by the national Hybrid Intelligence Centre.
Relevant study areas and keywords include computer science, psychological sciences, cognitive science, human-machine communication, experimental research, behavioral research, and multi-agent systems. The post includes mild teaching duties in English (about 10% of the appointment). Dutch language knowledge is not required.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD in a computational field such as Artificial Intelligence or Computational Cognitive Science, or a strong background in experimental behavioral research; strong written and spoken English; ability to collaborate across backgrounds; demonstrated ability to publish and present at international venues; good programming skills; and motivation to contribute to Hybrid Intelligence.
Funding and conditions: fixed-term contract for 3 years; salary indication €4251–€4599 per month; 232 vacation hours per year (based on 38 hours/week); 8.3% end-of-year bonus; 8% holiday allowance; and opportunities for personal and professional development.
