About this position
Postdoc opportunity in Plant-Dairy Hybrid Foods at the Department of Food Science, University of Copenhagen (KU FOOD).
This postdoctoral position is part of the research project Boosting Dairy Side Stream Value through Hybrids (BoostDairy), focused on developing next-generation plant-dairy hybrid foods that improve nutritional and sensory quality while reducing environmental impact. The work is carried out in close collaboration with Arla Foods Ingredients and Arla Foods a.m.b.a., and is financed by the Danish Milk Levy Fund and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
The successful candidate will join the Food Proteins research group within the section Ingredient and Dairy Technology. Core research activities include process optimisation, structural characterisation of hybrid matrices, and related experimental work. The role also includes research dissemination, teaching, supervision of BSc/MSc students, and collaboration with a PhD candidate.
Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD degree related to the subject area. Strong experience is sought in food/bioprocessing unit operations, food structure characterisation (rheology, microscopy, scattering, etc.), dairy technology, plant-based foods, and design of experiments. Excellent English and scientific communication skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Position details: full-time, 1.5 years. Expected start date is 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
