About this position

EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) is advertising a full-time postdoctoral position in polymer design for vat photopolymerization at the Laboratory for the Chemistry of Materials and Manufacturing (ALCHEMY) in EPFL Neuchatel, Switzerland.

The research focus is on developing accessible chemistries and processing strategies for the fabrication of advanced functional materials and devices. The postdoc will work on topics related to polymer science, chemistry, materials science, photopolymerization, photocrosslinking, small molecule synthesis, and polymer characterization.

The lab is seeking candidates with experience in either (a) the development of (macro)monomers for the synthesis of microstructured polymers or (b) novel photopolymerization/photocrosslinking strategies. Applicants should hold a PhD in chemistry or polymer science; materials science backgrounds are also considered if the required experience is present. Additional requirements include experience with small molecule synthesis and characterization, polymer characterization, at least two peer-reviewed scientific articles, and excellent English communication skills.

The position is a 1-year fixed-term contract (CDD), renewable, with competitive remuneration, international collaboration and visiting opportunities, and access to state-of-the-art research facilities.

Applications must be submitted through the online platform only. The application package should include a cover/motivation letter, detailed CV, a research statement describing two novel small molecules and/or polymers synthesized and characterized, and contact information for at least two references.

For further information, contact [email protected]. The contract start date is 2027-01-15.
