Postdoc opportunity at Aarhus University, Denmark

The Department of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health, Aarhus University, is inviting applications for a 3-year full-time postdoc in the Department of Affective Disorders (ADA) / Aarhus University Hospital-Psychiatry. The project, EpiGen-EP, focuses on the epidemiology and shared genetics of eating disorders and personality disorders, with a strong emphasis on psychiatric genetic epidemiology, register-based research, and statistical analysis.

The successful candidate will work with Danish national health registers and the iPSYCH sample, using data from Denmark and Estonia to study comorbidity, biological underpinnings, and meaningful subgroups for targeted treatment and prevention. The role includes independent research, publication, limited teaching and supervision, some contribution to external funding efforts, and dissemination to academic, clinical, and patient stakeholders.

Supervision will be provided by Dr. Katherine Musliner (associate professor, ADA research unit) and Dr. Zeynep Yilmaz (associate professor, Department of Public Health, Aarhus University). Administrative reporting is to Dr. Søren D. Østergaard, head of the ADA research unit.

Eligibility highlights: PhD-level training in psychiatric epidemiology and/or psychiatric genetics (or a closely related field), experience with large datasets, strong data analysis and statistical modeling skills, and competence in SAS, STATA, or R. Fluency in English is required; Danish is an advantage. The post is based in Aarhus, Denmark.
