About this position
Postdoc opportunity at the University of Bern in the area of self-harm, suicidality, new media, and digital interventions.
The position is part of two major projects: PROTECT-SH, a Horizon Europe-funded multicenter study across seven countries, and NASA, a clinic-based suicide prevention app project. The work focuses on how social media use may protect against or contribute to self-harm and suicidal behavior in adolescents and young adults, and on the development and evaluation of digital interventions such as apps and EMA/EMI approaches.
The postdoc will coordinate the PROTECT-SH project from Bern, contribute to ethics and study documentation, help design and run large randomized controlled trials, manage data and panel maintenance, analyze quantitative data, write publications, and present findings at national and international conferences. There is also room to contribute to internal projects and existing datasets in the research group.
Eligibility highlights: completed PhD in psychology or a related field; experience with clinical trials; strong statistical skills (R, Stata, Mplus mentioned); experience with digital data collection or intervention methods is an advantage; very good German and English.
Employment details: 100% temporary postdoc position, initially for two years, with possible extension depending on suitability and project duration. Salary follows University of Bern guidelines.
