About this position

Open postdoctoral position in virus-host interactions and quantitative interactomics within the CHIKO Project, an ERC Advanced Grant initiative led from Aix-Marseille University / AFMB in Marseille, France.

The project focuses on decoding how viral replication complexes and alphagranules interact with host factors across early, middle, and late stages of the viral cycle. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in virology, biochemistry, protein-protein interactions, quantitative mass spectrometry, and biophysical methods, with access to major facilities including PBSIM (Marseille), Cryo-EM at Madrid CNB, ESRF, SOLEIL, and the CRCM proteomics facility.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Virology, or a related field. Strong experience in protein production and purification, interaction assays (e.g., hold-up assays, IP), quantitative MS, and biophysical techniques is highly desirable. Familiarity with viral systems, especially RNA viruses, and host-pathogen interactions is a plus. English proficiency and strong independent and collaborative working skills are required.

To apply, email [email protected] with subject line CHIKO-PD2-Application. Include a CV with publication list, a cover letter describing your research interests and fit for CHIKO, and contact details for 2-3 references. Interviews are expected to begin by the end of September, and the position remains open until filled. Potential start date: January 2027.
