About this position
IMol Structural Virology Lab is recruiting 2 funded postdoctoral researchers supported by the NCN National Science Centre in Poland.
The research focuses on bunyaviruses, segmented negative-strand RNA viruses, and how they reorganize and exploit cellular translation during infection. The lab aims to identify host factors used by viruses for non-canonical translation strategies and to determine the structures and functions of virus-host protein complexes.
Postdoc 1 will investigate how steady-state and nascent proteomes change during bunyaviral infection and/or how the cellular translation machinery is reorganized to produce viral proteins. Strong preparation in virology and human cell culture assays is encouraged, with additional value given to experience in RNA virus molecular mechanisms, proteomic data bioinformatics, and/or confocal microscopy.
Postdoc 2 will study complexes involved in viral transcription and translation, especially complexes formed by orthobunyaviral L protein, nucleoprotein, or viral RNA with host translation regulation factors and/or RNA-binding proteins. Strong preparation in recombinant proteins and structural biology is encouraged, with additional value given to RNA virus infection project experience or mass spectrometry.
This is a research-intensive opportunity for candidates interested in virology, RNA viruses, proteomics, structural biology, and host-virus interactions. The post is based at IMol in Poland and is explicitly described as funded. No deadline is stated in the post.
To apply, complete the application form linked in the post. For informal questions, contact [email protected].
