About this position

Open position: Construction of lymphoid tissue organoids

This is a 1.5-year contract opportunity at the Institut de Recherche Saint-Louis in Paris, within Team 9 under the supervision of Dr. Karl Balabanian and Christopher G. Mueller (Director of Research, CNRS). The project is funded by CNRS Innovation and focuses on engineering human lymphoid tissue in vitro using mesenchymal cell organization and PBMCs.

The successful candidate will help consolidate the method and develop functional assays to assess T/B/stromal cell activity. The work sits at the intersection of organoids, tissue engineering, cell culture, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy, and translational immunology/medical science.

Eligibility highlights include strong experience in cell culture, preferably with organoids or tissue engineering, plus practical expertise in flow cytometry and microscopy. The post is aimed at a research engineer or early postdoctoral fellow, with a preference for applicants who are within 1–2 years post-PhD if applying as a postdoc.

The institute offers state-of-the-art platforms for cell culture, flow cytometry, and microscopy, and is located in Paris 10e near Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord. The contract starts between October 2026 and January 2027, and the deadline for applications is 31 July 2026.

To apply, send a CV and motivation letter directly by email to Christopher G. Mueller at [email protected].
