About this position

What's required

PhD in materials science and engineering, nuclear engineering, or a related field, with zero to five years of employment experience. Applicants should have knowledge of metallic alloy development, additive manufacturing, and/or microstructure-sensitive materials behavior; experience with irradiation damage and in-situ ion irradiation; corrosion studies relevant to nuclear systems; advanced characterization methods such as SEM, TEM, EBSD, and XRD; specimen preparation methods including electropolishing, flash polishing, and focused ion beam; and computer vision, image analysis, or machine-learning methods for microscopy or materials data. Strong experimental, analytical, written, oral, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are required.
