About this position

Postdoctoral Associate | Cell and Molecular Biology at The Jackson Laboratory (Hinson Lab), Farmington, Connecticut, United States.

This is a postdoctoral opening for an independent, highly motivated PhD-level scientist to join a trans-continental collaborative group funded by the Human Frontiers Science Program (HFSP). The project aims to use human pluripotent stem cell technology and advanced structural biology to define mechanisms and rules of sarcomere assembly and function.

The lab’s broader research focuses on inherited heart failure and other muscle disorders using pluripotent stem cell biology, tissue engineering, genome editing, and multi-omics assays. The successful candidate will work with a world-class consortium spanning pluripotent stem cell biology, 3D organoids/microtissue assays, super-resolution microscopy, and structural biology.

Eligibility highlights: PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biophysics, biomedical engineering, or a related field; prior research experience in at least two of stem cell biology/differentiation, advanced microscopy, genome editing, and proteomics; publication record in peer-reviewed journals; strong writing and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively across continents. Experience with R, Python, proteomics analysis, and bioinformatics is helpful.

Funding: Salary is listed by postdoc experience level, starting at $65,589 (Year 0-1) and rising to $75,569 (Year 5-6). The project is supported by HFSP funding.

How to apply: Submit a current CV, at least 2 letters of reference, and a 1-page maximum statement of Research Interests and Career Goals. Apply via the Workday job link on the posting page.
