About this position

Postdoctoral Associate opportunity at Rutgers University–New Brunswick in the Rutgers Exercise, Aging, and Brain Health Laboratory.

This position is part of an NIH-funded project led by Dr. Ryan Dougherty in the Department of Kinesiology and Health, School of Arts and Sciences. The project examines relationships between physical fitness-related measures, Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers, and cognitive function in cognitively normal older adults. The postdoc will also contribute to additional lab projects at the intersection of exercise neuroscience, aging, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Physiology, Neuroscience, Neurology, Biomedical Science, Psychology, Rehabilitation Science, or a related field. ABD candidates may be considered if the doctorate will be completed by the start date. Required experience includes human research and data collection, physiological assessment (such as cardiorespiratory fitness testing with indirect calorimetry), strong quantitative skills, and proficiency in R/RStudio, STATA, SAS, or similar software. Experience with MRI/MRS preprocessing or willingness to learn neuroimaging is also important.

The posting lists a salary of $63,968–$65,000 plus Rutgers benefits. Review of applications begins immediately and continues until the position is filled.

To apply, submit a CV, cover letter, research statement, and three reference contacts. Optional materials include 1–2 relevant peer-reviewed publications.
