About this position

Yale University is advertising a Postdoctoral Associate in Gerontologic Biostatistics in the Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Geriatrics, and the Department of Biostatistics at the Yale School of Public Health.

The position is mentored by Dr. Heather Allore and Dr. Fan Li, with additional mentorship from collaborators at Brown University and NYU School of Medicine. The research focuses on biostatistics, causal inference, machine learning, pragmatic trials, and methods for studying heterogeneous treatment effects in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD), as well as broader gerontology studies.

This is a full-time postdoctoral appointment for one year with full benefits, and there is a possibility of renewal for a second year depending on performance and funding. The role is supported by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) IMPACT Collaboratory, and conference travel support may also be available.

Applicants should hold a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or a relevant area, have strong programming skills, and possess good written and oral communication skills. Coursework in causal inference and machine learning is preferred. The posting gives strong preference to candidates interested in pragmatic trials and/or AD/ADRD care, and applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. All PhD requirements must be completed before the start date.

To apply, email a CV, two most relevant publications, and contact information for three references to [email protected]. The cover letter should summarize relevant research experience and explain interest in the research. Applications are reviewed as they arrive. The stated start date is September 1, 2027.
