About this position
Postdoctoral Associate | Bennett Lab at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine, United States.
The Bennett Lab studies the developmental emergence of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and how TGF-β/BMP signaling regulates the transition from pre-HSCs to transplantable HSCs. The lab also investigates novel regulators of HSC maturation, hemogenic endothelium, and the molecular programs that produce fully functional, multi-lineage engraftable HSCs.
Research approaches include mouse genetics, embryo models, transplantation assays, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, clonal barcoding, single-cell genomics, and related computational analysis. The role is designed for an independent postdoctoral researcher to plan, develop, execute, and analyze a project aligned with the lab’s main focus areas.
Required qualifications: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in biological sciences or a related discipline; at least one first-author publication; strong training in molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, or stem cell biology; and strong communication, independence, and teamwork skills. Preferred experience includes hematopoiesis, vascular biology, mouse models, lineage tracing, cell sorting, primary cell culture, single-cell RNA-seq/ATAC-seq/spatial genomics, lentiviral systems, clonal barcoding, and bioinformatics.
The position is a postdoctoral opening, with salary listed on a postdoc experience scale from $65,589 to $75,569. The lab notes support for fellowship applications, manuscripts, conference presentations, mentoring, and career development toward academic or industry paths.
To apply, submit a cover letter, CV, and three references through the Workday application portal.
