About this position
Postdoctoral Associate in Implementation Science at the University of Miami
This full-time, in-person postdoctoral position is based at the School of Nursing and Health Studies on the Coral Gables campus of the University of Miami in the United States. The role sits within Dr. Audrey Harkness’s research team and focuses on implementation science, HIV prevention and treatment, and behavioral health (including mental health and substance use) disparities affecting key populations, with a particular emphasis on Latino men who have sex with men.
The postdoctoral associate will support two federally funded projects. The first is JUNTOS HIV Self Testing, a website/app that centralizes information about HIV prevention, treatment, and behavioral health services across South Florida and is being expanded to support people ordering at-home HIV self-test kits. Responsibilities include leading stakeholder co-design workshops, overseeing data collection, refining implementation strategies, supporting participant screening/consent/enrollment/randomization, conducting qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods analyses, and contributing to manuscripts, presentations, reports, and secondary analyses.
The second project is an LGBTQ-affirmative CBT implementation trial led by colleagues at Yale University. Possible responsibilities include developing secondary analysis projects, conducting approved analyses, preparing manuscripts and conference presentations, creating feedback reports for participating sites, and delivering presentations/webinars to disseminate findings.
Additional duties include supporting grant applications and research proposals, mentoring staff and trainees, maintaining scientific rigor and regulatory compliance, and attending weekly lab and project meetings. The position offers mentorship from the PI, access to implementation science training resources, and weekly designated writing time for grant writing and career development.
