About this position
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) position in the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing (CoE-AM) under a sponsored research project.
Project title: Functionally Graded Multi-Material Low-Pressure Turbine Blades via Laser Directed Energy Deposition. The work sits at the intersection of Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, and Industrial Engineering, with a strong focus on additive manufacturing, laser directed energy deposition (LDED), metal 3D printing, CAD/CAM, surface engineering, and material behavior in turbine blade applications.
Funding: consolidated stipend of Rs 60,000 per month. The appointment is for 12 months and may be extended up to 24 months.
Eligibility highlights: applicants should have a first-class PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, CAD/CAM Engineering, Production Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline. Experience in additive manufacturing processes, metal 3D printing, surface engineering, CAD/CAM software, and materials science is specifically preferred.
