About this position
NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Kavli Institute’s Aging Neuroscience Group in Trondheim, Norway. The project focuses on aging neuroscience, especially the structural and functional neural networks underlying social and emotional processing in aging.
The postdoctoral fellow will join Dr. Maryam Ziaei’s group and contribute to a three-year research program involving a deep sampling study of healthy participants and clinical patients. The work includes fMRI (task and resting-state), behavioral testing, data analysis, project design, academic publication, and dissemination. The lab also works with ultra-high-field 7T MRI, brainstem/subcortical structures such as the locus coeruleus, and broader cross-sectional and large-scale MRI datasets.
Eligibility highlights: a completed PhD in psychology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, or a related field is required; candidates in the final phase of the doctorate may apply if the thesis has been submitted or the defense date is confirmed. Strong experience in fMRI analysis, SPM/FSL, Python/Matlab, multivariate and network analyses, and excellent English communication skills are required. Preferred experience includes structural MRI, machine learning, large MRI datasets, and research with older adults.
Funding: the position is a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship with a salary normally starting at NOK 633,400 per year before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. The position is conditional on external funding.
Application: submit the application electronically via Jobbnorge.no by 2026-11-07. Required attachments include transcripts and diplomas, CV, doctoral thesis or draft, a two-page research plan, two first-authored papers, possible recommendation letters, and contact details for two referees. Documents must be in English.
