About this position
George Washington University is advertising a Post Doctoral Fellow position in Analysis and Modeling of Wireless Channels for Wearables and Implants under the NIST Professional Research Experience Program (PREP).
The project focuses on developing accurate computational models and phantoms to emulate tissues and human body organs for assessing wireless communication channels in wearable and implant settings. Research applications include human lung monitoring and brain-computer interface systems, with additional work on antenna placement, antenna arrays, in-body beamforming, creeping waves, and RF propagation analysis.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related field. Desired expertise includes body area networks, IEEE 802.15.6, IEEE 802.15 TG6ma, wearable and implant antenna design, computational modeling of human tissues and organs, the Maxwell-Garnet model, and RF propagation channel modeling. Experience with ANSYS HFSS, SCAN IP, XCAT, Python, or MATLAB is listed, along with strong communication skills.
This is a research fellowship/postdoctoral opening rather than a scholarship. The posting notes that candidates must be eligible for a Department of Commerce background check for facility access.
Interested candidates should use the Apply Here link on the posting page to submit their application.
